LGBT Health and Wellbeing aims to improve the health and wellbeing of all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people living in Scotland, through reducing social isolation and stimulating community development.
Their LGBT Helpline Scotland provides information and emotional support to LGBT people across Scotland, and is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 12pm – 9pm, on 0300 123 2523.
The helpline is also available to those questioning their sexual or gender identity, as well as friends and family of LGBT people, and is funded by the Scottish Government.
Calls cost the same amount as those to a local landline, and are included in any special call allowances or packages. The helpline is operated by trained and experienced staff and volunteers, many of whom identify as LGBT. They have access to a wide range of information, including sexual health, support organisations and social groups. They are also there for those who simply want to talk.
