Join Grangemouth Community Council for the launch of the brand new Community Action Plan for Grangemouth!
Taking place next Thursday 24th February, 7pm – 8pm via Zoom, the launch event will showcase the new plan, with a short presentation from Walter Inglis (vice convener of Grangemouth Community Council) all about the plan and the work being done to make Grangemouth an even better place to be, and future opportunities everyone can get involved in.
The launch is completely free to attend, and is facilitated by CVS Falkirk and Falkirk Council.
Walter will speak about ideas for:
- housing
- health, mental health and wellbeing
- community spirit
- employment
- regeneration and improving the town centre
Background
Community Action Plans are used by local people to help identify local priorities, what really matters to them and their communities.
These priorities were identified for the new plan after consultation with local people, communities and groups, which explored ideas and opportunities that could be developed and designed to make a difference to Grangemouth (including the town centre and Charlotte Dundas Shopping Centre). Supported by the Community Planning Partnership, the new plan was created to build on the existing draft developed in 2019, and includes new opportunities, developments and concerns, like the Grangemouth Growth Deal and Investment Zone, the Flood Protection Scheme and Investment, and the impacts of COVID-19.
Further Events
Not only does the event introduce the new plan, it also kicks off a series of in-person roadshows throughout Grangemouth in March (with dates to be confirmed), where people can learn more about specific points within the plan – and pick up a physical copy.
