CEiS and Interface have launched new programme aiming to facilitate and support inclusive innovation in the Scottish social enterprise and enterprising third sectors.
“Inclusive Innovation” is designed to raise awareness of available opportunities for support for enterprises with innovative solutions for growth, sustainability or to address social and environmental problems. It is aimed at social entrepreneurs, social enterprises and enterprising third sector organisations throughout Scotland who:
- have an idea to create positive social or environmental change
- want to tap into new opportunities
- need support to grow or scale a community or social enterprise
The programme also offers support with technical gaps, market research and foresighting.
Those interested in taking part should attend one of the programme’s free events, where they will hear from a range of enterprises on how Interface has supported a diverse type, size and scale of projects to get off the ground, and the results of these. The first event, “Health & Social Care”, takes place on Friday 20th August, 11am – 11:45am, with speakers from Lilypads Group Ltd.
The second event is “Environmental and Net Zero”, on Thursday 2nd September, 10am – 10:45am, and features Bo’ness’ own Sustainable Thinking Scotland CIC, who will talk about their journey working Interface to identify academic partners and develop scientifically proven production and application methods for Biochar (a stable form of carbon, which when added to soil, slows down the release of CO2 into the atmosphere).
The full list of events, and how to book your place, is available on the CEiS website (towards the end of the page).
Afterwards attending one of these events, the Interface team will get in touch, or you can contact them directly via their online contact form (linked for your convenience). From there, the team will help participants to:
- define the problem to be solved
- find the right innovation partner
- scope the project
- determine the right incentive or mechanism
- assist with contract agreement
