CommonHealth, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen Foyer, and Big Lottery Fund partners are holding an impact management event, “Impact and Evaluation in the Third Sector: Making It Meaningful,” on Tuesday 6th November at the Big Lottery office in Pacific House, 70 Wellington Street, Glasgow, G2 6UA. Registration will be from 10:30am. Lunch is included.
The event aims to provide an overview of research about impact management and evaluation, and a creative thinking workshop on how organisations and funders can begin to co-create solutions, as a result of recent focus in measuring impact in the third sector, and its perceived value to both charities, social enterprises, community groups and other third sector organisations, and funders.
This event is intended for organisations and funders who are interested in hearing about recent research into these topics, and who want to help improve the way the evidence system works in the third sector.
During the morning session, speakers will include:
- Aberdeen Foyer: An Impact Journey (project 6 of the CommonHealth programme) will share their work on researching and understanding the challenges faced by third sector organisations regarding impact measurement and developing practical solutions to support with these
- Leona McDermid, CEO of Aberdeen Foyer, will share her experiences of taking part in the work with CommonHealth
- Big Lottery Fund will share findings from their recent research into organisations’ experiences of their monitoring and evaluation, including challenges identified and actions being planned to address these
- Steven Marwick, Director of Evaluation Support Scotland (ESS) will share insights from ESS’ experience of supporting evaluation and impact measurement in the third sector in Scotland, both the challenges and the solutions.
Following a networking lunch, there will then be a creative thinking workshop to identify and begin to co-create solutions to issues identified during the morning’s discussions.
