Central Scotland Regional Equality Council (CSREC) and the Scottish Human Rights Commission (SHRC) are holding an event which will take place in the run-up to International Human Rights Day and the first anniversary of the launch of Scotland’s National Action Plan for Human Rights.
The event will bring together volunteers and community groups, as well as statutory agencies, to look at how people’s human rights in the Forth Valley area are being negatively affected by current social policy and what can be done about it.
The session will include:
- An introduction to Scotland’s National Action Plan for Human Rights – why it was developed, what it aims to do and what progress has been made in its first year.
- An introduction to a human rights based approach to tackling poverty and upholding dignity in care for older adults.
- A discussion of how to take forward a human rights agenda in Forth Valley.
Places for this event are very limited and will be allocated on first come first serve basis. For further information or to book a place call Claire Harvey on 01324 468766 or email: Claire.Harvey@centralscotlandrec.org.uk
