Shared Care Scotland has launched a national consultation, looking into the provision of holiday activity programmes for disabled children and young people, and their families.
This follows on from preliminary research undertaken in 6 local authority areas during July – September 2019
The consultation aims to research the scale, nature, and delivery of holiday provision for disabled children and young people across Scotland. This work will support Shared Care Scotland’s future efforts to improve policy and practice, and the targeting of resources.
Shared Care Scotland are keen to hear from as many people as possible in order for them to have their voices heard.
The consultation consists of 3 surveys to gather views from:
- disabled children and young people aged 5 – 18 years old, aiming to provide a vehicle for their voices and views; participants are encouraged to complete the survey with support if necessary
- parent carers, in order to national picture of their experiences and the challenges they face
- support agencies and local service providers, in order to understand how they attempt to offer activities, programmes and support for families
The deadline for responses to all surveys is Friday 8th November.
To submit your response to any survey, or for further information, please visit the Shared Care Scotland website.
