Her Majesty’s Young Offenders Institute Polmont are looking to recruit volunteers to provide assistance within the family visitor centre, specifically on the family hub bus.
They are specifically looking for volunteer play leaders, and those to assist with administration duties, providing assistance within the family visitor centre, specifically on the family hub bus.
- Volunteer Play Leaders
Volunteer play leaders will support family hub staff by welcoming children, families and visitors to the service, providing healthy refreshments, offering information and giving families appropriate information leaflets.
Additional tasks include setting up and clearing after each visit session, and promoting healthy eating. Volunteers must also maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Administration Assistant
Administrative assistant volunteers will support family hub staff with duties which will include filing, photocopying, updating the database, spreadsheets, amongst others.
The family hub bus is a collaborative project between the Church of Scotland and various third sector organisations, who work with Scottish Prison Service to support families of young people incarcerated in HMYOI Polmont.
