The Scottish Youth Hostel Association (Hosteling Scotland) has announced that its “Give Us A Break” programme 2016 is now open for applications.
Give us a Break is the funded residential programme of SYHA Hosteling Scotland which aims to tackle social exclusion by offering groups of vulnerable or disadvantaged young people the opportunity to take part in activity holidays at youth hostels across Scotland.
A typical break includes a 2 night stay at an SYHA youth hostel. Working in partnership with experienced and qualified outdoor activity providers, participants receive expert knowledge and instruction in a whole range of team building and problem solving activities.
The application process is open to all schools and youth groups who are working with young people affected by deprivation and social exclusion. The opportunity to apply to the Give Us A Break programme is open to young people throughout Scotland of upper primary school age and above.
