The National Third Sector Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) Project is currently recruiting for a Senior Policy Officer (Engagement), based in Edinburgh.
The position is 35 hours per week, with a salary of £27,828 – £31,689 and a fixed term contract until Monday 30th September.
The GIRFEC Project is now managed by Children in Scotland. The new Senior Policy Officer (Engagement) will play a key role in the project, focusing on gaining better understanding of children’s and young people’s engagement and influence in shaping services.
The successful candidate will work to understand, strengthen and support local third sector partners in developing their knowledge, skills and experience in engaging with children and young people to support policy influencing, service design and delivery. They will examine the context for this engagement, including partnership working, engagement methodologies, the role of third sector organisations in enabling the engagement, and wider policy drivers.
Applicants should have significant experience of participation and engagement work with children and young people; an ability to judge the effectiveness of different engagement approaches; and knowledge of the third and statutory sectors’ roles in children’s services planning and delivery. They will have highly developed project management, communication and partnership working abilities.
