Organisations in Scotland have until Wednesday 16th March to apply for grants from the Scottish Government’s Violence Against Women and Girls Fund (VAWGF).
The VAWGF supports projects that build capacity in local partnerships to strengthen responses to violence and abuse, either through frontline services or prevention and early intervention.
Funding is available for 12 months, from Friday 1st July 2016 to Friday 30th June 2017.
The fund is open to applications from third sector organisations with legal status, including charitable incorporated organisations, or organisations which will be incorporated by 1st July 2016, community interest companies, and social enterprises. Partnerships which include public sector bodies can also apply, as can individual public bodies.
The Fund aims to minimise the harmful effects of violence and abuse against women and girls, due to an increased focus on prevention and the provision of early interventions and appropriate, high quality services. It also aims to help reduce the harm to women and children with protected characteristics and other vulnerabilities through increased inclusive service provision.
Additionally, service design and delivery will be improved as a result of the participation of women and children affected by violence and abuse, through the Fund.
