Grants of between £10,000 and £1 million are available for projects designed to support communities to take more control and influence over their own future through ownership of assets. These are usually physical assets, such as land, buildings or equipment, but may also include other types of asset such as energy.
The Big Lottery Fund (BIG) is looking to fund projects that use the ownership of local assets to make communities more sustainable and improve their economic, environmental and social future, develop skills and knowledge within communities and help communities overcome disadvantage and inequality.
Organisations that are eligible to apply include voluntary and community organisations, social enterprises and private companies (provided their grants do not contribute to the profits you distribute).
The closing date for stage 1 applications is 12 noon on the 30th June 2015.
