The Scottish Government have announced £29 million worth of funding for community and third sector projects to help support the Fairer Scotland Action Plan, which was published in October 2016. £12 million of the funding comes from the European Social Fund.
£18.9 million will be directed into the new Aspiring Communities Fund, which offers funding opportunities for third sector organisations and community projects working to find long-lasting local solutions to poverty. The Aspiring Communities Fund will open for applications at the end of January
Another £9.7 million will be dedicated to the Growing Social Economy Programme. The Programme will enable third sector organisations to try new ideas and approaches by collaborating with research organisations or supporting people to improve their skills.
