The Larder, in partnership with Falkirk Council, is delivering new free “Multiply” adult numeracy courses, funded by the UK Government.
Multiply is a practical numeracy course for learners aged 19 years old and over who want to improve their numeracy skills to help them get the job, college course or career they want, or to become more confident in handling numbers in their everyday life.
Using real life examples, based on the numbers encountered in daily life, the 3 day (consisting of one 5 hour session each day) or 6 day (one 3 hour session each day) courses will use budgeting, personal finance, measurements, calculations, and percentages (amongst others), to help learners brush up on their numeracy skills, for now and the future.
On completion of the course, each learner will receive a certificate from The Larder, and receive their SQA certificate in the post at a later date.
Currently, The Larder is offering 2 Workplace Core Skill: Numeracy courses through the Multiply programme, at SCQF 4 or 5.
The courses can either be run at Grangemouth Municipal Chambers, or groups and organisation can arrange with The Larder to run the courses at their venue (or another venue agreed with The Larder); learners can be booked onto the course individually, or organisations can block book a cohort of learners up to a maximum of 12 per group.
