FK1 Include LGBT+ Youth Drop-In

FK1 Include is a weekly drop-in for LGBT+ young people aged 13 – 25 years old, running Wednesdays 6pm – 8pm at the Park Street Community Education Centre, Park Street, Falkirk, FK1 1RE.

The drop-in allows young people to make new friends, get involved in new project, access support and advice, and most of all, aims to provide a fun, safe and confidential environment.

Denny and Dunipace CAB Board Chairperson

The Denny and Dunipace Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is looking for a new Board Chair. The Chair will be required to attend and chair regular Board meetings (approximately 6 per year), ensuring that agenda points are covered, actions are delegated appropriately, and everyone present has the opportunity to speak. The CAB is particularly interested in hearing from those with experience in a range of fields, including project management, strategic planning, or volunteer service provision.

Volunteering Roles in Bo’ness

We would again like to say thank you to everyone who came along to the recent Bo’ness Volunteer Recruitment Fayre. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet face to face with dozens of organisations from across the area. There are still brilliant opportunities available in Bo’ness, and it’s not too late to get involved!

Scotland’s National Transport Strategy: Local Discussion Event

Scottish Government are consulting on Scotland’s National Transport Strategy (NTS2) As a result, the Rainbow Muslim’s Women Group and BEMIS Scotland are holding an event for people to share their views on Tuesday 17th September, 12pm – 3pm at Westfield Community Centre, Westfield Street, Falkirk, FK2 9DX. Everyone is welcome.

Young Carers Grant Roadshow: Falkirk Event

This autumn, Social Security Scotland is launching the new Young Carers Grant (YCG). The grant is a new yearly payment of £300 for young carers aged 16 – 18 years old who live in Scotland. In advance of the grant’s launch, Social Security Scotland is running a free Young Carer Grant Roadshow information event for those working with young carers on Wednesday 2nd October, 10am – 12:30pm at the Falkirk Business Hub, 45 Vicar Street, Falkirk, FK1 1LL. Places are limited, and booking is essential.
