Falkirk’s Mental Health Association (FDAMH) has announced the launch of their first ever Youth Advisory Board.
They will be looking for around 8 caring and enthusiastic young people who are passionate about mental health. Recruitment will start at the beginning of 2022 with more information on the recruitment process becoming available soon.
Through their services, FDAMH knows the importance of listening and learning from young people; the new Youth Advisory Board will ensure that their voices are heard and are at the heart of decision-making in FDAMH.
They will welcome applications from anyone aged 13 – 24 years old, who can commit to joining the board for 2 years.
The main purpose of the Youth Advisory Board will be shaped by the young people once they are in post. However, initial thoughts include:
- to work directly with FDAMH’s Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees, helping shape decisions and discuss new ideas
- to be the voice of Falkirk’s young people
- to help raise awareness of FDAMH in the local community
Ian Dickson, Chief Executive Officer at Falkirk’s Mental Health Association, said:
“I am excited about launching our new Youth Advisory Board, which will be a fantastic opportunity for young people in Falkirk to contribute to the future success of FDAMH and play a key role in helping shape Mental Health Services for young people in our community.
The demand for services is increasing and ever-changing and we are certain that the new Youth Advisory Board will help FDAMH ensure that every young person gets the right support at the right time!”
