Falkirk and District Asssociation for Mental Health are looking for a Family Support Practitioner to work to improve the lives of family members or friends of those experiencing reduced mental wellbeing.
Reporting to the Project Lead, you will work 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a flexible basis – some evening work will be required. You will be based at our office in Central Falkirk but may work at other locations depending on need.
Using an array of effective approaches such as providing access to education and support groups, you will help families and friends, including young people, to improve how they cope with their situation. With your support they will build resilience; be better informed; be less isolated; have better quality relationships with the person they care for; and become more involved in positive activities. You will work with them using one-to-one or group interventions to help them achieve their goals.
You will be a skilled practitioner with experience of working with families with complex needs and a clear focus on delivering positive outcomes for your clients. You will be an excellent communicator at all levels, with understanding of mental health and psychological wellbeing as well as issues affecting carers and young people.
