In addition to their new CBT for Menopause course, Falkirk’s Mental Health Association (FDAMH) is running the following courses:
- Promoting Better Sleep Course
A free, fully funded course available to people living in Falkirk District, delivered over 3 2 hour sessions.
The course looks at both the mechanics of sleep, and ways participants can examine their sleep preparation, sleep pattern and what barriers they may have to overcome to get a better night’s sleep.

- SQA Accredited Level 8 COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills Course
Applications are now open for their 2 available COSCA courses (a weekend course and an online course), which aim to enable people in supporting roles to develop their skills and knowledge to improve and develop both work-based interpersonal skills, and Continued Professional Development (CPD). The course aims to teach advanced, practical communication skills, developed through a combination of theory and hands-on practice. This then helps develop true listening and attention, effective communication, and advanced relational skills.
The weekend course will be delivered on a Friday evening and Saturday daytime, over a condensed period of 4 months. The course will be completed March 2024 – June 2024, in-person, with classes taking place outwith core school hours.
Alternatively, the online course will be delivered via Zoom, January 2024 – August 2024, on Wednesday evenings with the occasional Saturday daytime session.
The fee is £1,300 for the entire course – this includes digital copies of all of the COSCA workbooks required for the course. Once participants have accepted their offered place, FDAMH requires a deposit of £325 to secure the place; this deposit will also cover payment for the first module of the course.
Payment plans are available for the remaining fee (a 5% surcharge applies to payment plans); those applying for a place on the course should indicate on their application that they are interested in a payment plan.
