Falkirk Victoria Harriers are holding 2 information sessions at the Park Street Community Centre, Park Street, Falkirk, FK1 1RE on Wednesday 22nd November. The first session is at 2:30pm, with other at 6:45pm.
Falkirk Victoria Harriers are an athletics club based in Grangemouth, with members aged 9 – 92.
The group has also recently become one of the first organisations in Falkirk to be awarded Volunteer Friendly Award accreditation. The Volunteer Friendly Award is a quality national standard to support, recognise and reward groups who are good at involving volunteers.
They believe volunteering is mutually beneficial. As well as the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to people’s lives, it can provide opportunities to develop new transferable skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. They aim to provide individuals with a challenging and rewarding volunteering experience.
The information sessions will provide information on the wide range of activities and volunteering roles Falkirk Victoria Harries has available, including coaching, officiating, admin and social media. Many of these do not require any athletics experience, and trial runs can be organised for those who would like to try the role before making a final decision.
The sessions are open to individual volunteers, organisations with service users who may benefit by volunteering, or for those wishing to become an athlete.
To book your place at either session, or to register your interest even if you can’t attend either session, please complete the online registration form.
Alternatively, to get involved with the Harriers as an athlete and take part in their training sessions, or their extensive Community Athletics Pathway, visit the Falkirk Victoria Harriers website. All sessions are led by qualified coaches and helpers with up to date PVG checks.
