With just 4 weeks to go until Falkirk Funders Fayre 2025, we’re counting down by looking at some of our stallholders – including one of our exciting new exhibitors, Business Energy Scotland, who’ll be joining us for the first time!
About Business Energy Scotland
Business Energy Scotland is funded by Scottish Government to provide free, impartial support and access to funding to help small and medium-sized enterprises (including third sector groups and organisations) save energy, carbon and money.
Previously known as the Energy Efficiency Business Support Service from Zero Waste Scotland, Business Energy Scotland launched in April 2022 and is managed by Energy Saving Trust. Helping organisations tackle climate change through energy efficiency and savings is a huge part of their focus – something to bear in mind as more and more funders ask for evidence of green activities and carbon reductions.
Since their launch, they’ve found over £200 million worth of savings for Scottish organisations – with a 24% average energy saving per business.
They’ve also worked with our team at CVS Falkirk & District to support local groups going through the Community Asset Transfer process, providing FREE energy audits of different buildings throughout Falkirk District.
They have a number of free resources available on their website, like their guides and fantastic Resource Hub, along with their Winter Support (always useful when Scottish winters are so often very long and wet, resulting in lighting and heating being turned on more regularly, for longer).
Through Business Energy Scotland, groups and organisations can also access unsecured, interest-free loans of up to £100,000 from Scottish Government to fund your carbon-saving business upgrades.
They can also provide support by phone: 0808 808 2268 (Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm), with other tips and highlights available through their blog.
From initial planning through to project implementation, Business Energy Scotland has tools, guides and training designed to help you every step of the way.
In addition to their guides and templates (see below), the hub has:
- Green Champions Online Training Course
- People can become a CPD-certified Green Champion from the comfort of their own desk, learning valuable new skills to successfully improve the resource efficiency and environmental performance of their organisation – and, of course, save money too.
- Staff Engagement Toolkit
- A comprehensive toolkit providing organisations with advice on setting up a green team, gaining management support and easy-to-use resources to motivate staff to save energy.
