Falkirk Funders Fayre 2019: New Funders Spotlight

Posted on February 22, 2019

With our FREE 2019 Funders Fayre (held in partnership with Falkirk Council) less than TWO WEEKS away on Tuesday 5th March, we thought it’s a good time to highlight some of our new funders who’ll be attending for the first time, including:

  • Crowdfunder Scotland, who will be delivering this year’s presentation
  • Creative Scotland
  • Social Investment Scotland

Falkirk Funders Fayre 2019 takes place at Bowhouse Community Centre, 130 Bowhouse Road, Grangemouth, FK3 0EU, and is designed to give third sector, charity and voluntary organisations the opportunity to meet with a range of diverse funders and to learn about the various grant funding schemes available.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and to obtain information on how to apply and learn about the criteria funders use when assessing applications.

  • Crowdfunder Scotland:

Crowdfunder, with the support of 9 Scottish LEADER areas, is working in partnership to help crowdfunding projects across Scotland turn their most innovative ideas into reality.

The 2 year Crowdfunder Scotland programme will provide coaching and support for projects in the 9 participating LEADER areas, including Kelvin Valley and Falkirk. They have also launched a crowdfunding portal on the Crowdfunder platform, featuring crowdfunding LEADER projects and providing information about funding, workshops and support.

Crowdfunder is a rewards-based crowdfunding platform, and has raised over £55 million for community, business and social enterprise projects across the country. On Crowdfunder, projects ask the crowd to support their ideas with pledges of money in return for a reward. Projects are also connected with funding partners, including more than 20 local authorities, Aviva, Virgin and M&S, who offer them grants and further support.

Our guests from Crowdfunder Scotland will be delivering this year’s presentation, which will detail what crowdfunding is and its benefits, along with Crowdfunder Scotland and their partnership with LEADER.

To book your place at the presentation, or further information, contact Tariq Mahmood by phone: 01324 692004, or email: tariq@cvsfalkirk.org.uk

  • Creative Scotland:

Creative Scotland is the public body that supports the arts, screen and creative industries across all parts of Scotland on behalf of everyone who lives, works or visits here. Creative Scotland distributes funding from the Scottish Government and The National Lottery, and has been involved in supporting and producing a variety of projects, including the 2017 Scottish Christmas zombie musical film Anna and the Apocalypse, CashBack for Creativity, Paper Houses Design, and BAFTA award winning T2 Trainspotting.

  • Social Investment Scotland:

Social Investment Scotland (SIS) is a provider of affordable, flexible, repayable investment for social enterprises. Their mission is to connect capital with communities to make a real, measurable and sustainable impact upon people’s lives, and aim to approach every social enterprise investment in an imaginative, creative and responsive way. They also hope to be a helpful, supportive ally throughout and help social entrepreneurs deal with any difficulties encountered.
