Falkirk Council are seeking volunteers to establish a new Licensing Forum to shape the future of licensing in the Falkirk area, which will help outline the policies that affect alcohol licensing decisions locally.
The Forum will work with the Licensing Board, making recommendations and suggestions on a wide range of issues connected with licensing. Although independent from the Board, it shares the common aim of having the local communities’ best interests at the heart of decision-making.
The Forum will meet 4 times per year, and will typically look at:
- what is happening in the area in relation to alcohol and licensed premises?
- is the Licensing Board making decisions in line with what is stated in its Policy?
- what is the effect of the Licensing Board’s decisions in the area?
Ideally, the Forum consist of a cross section of interested individuals, including Police, education, health and social workers, young people, licensed trade representatives and members of the public.
The deadline for applications is Friday 1st September.
To apply to become a member of the Forum, or further information (including an application form), please visit the Falkirk Council website.
