Falkirk Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) has launched a service to help people in Falkirk make their Universal Credit (UC) claim and ensure they get their first payment on time and in full.
This is in addition to the other advice services Falkirk CAB offers.
People who need help making a claim can access the service by phone (Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm): 0800 023 2581, or via the online service (linked for your convenience), 8 am – 6pm.
Falkirk CAB offers free, independent, impartial advice to people in Falkirk, with benefits advice one of top issues for people looking for support. They have helped thousands of local people with Universal Credit support, with advisers giving over 10,000 pieces of advice on UC since its roll out. Many of these issues are and support provided centre around the initial UC claiming process.

“Universal Credit is now rolled out across the country and we know people have been struggling with the system.
“We’re now offering a Help to Claim service that will help people complete their application so they can get paid on time and in full.
“Our adviser is here to offer impartial advice and support to anyone who may need help with the process.”
About the Help to Claim Service
Funded across the UK by the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP), the Help to Claim service offers tailored, practical support to help people make a Universal Credit claim and receive their first full correct payment on time. The Help to Claim service also checks Universal Credit is the most appropriate benefit for the individual to claim.

Anyone who needs support to make a new Universal Credit claim ,or is moving from a legacy benefit to Universal Credit following a change of circumstances, can access Help to Claim.
