SUMMARY:An Introduction to GIRFEC and the UNCRC: Online Webinar for the Third Sector
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Children In Scotland’s ‘Supporting the Third Sector’ project team\, there will be two introductory webinars held in 2026 providing an overview of the Scottish policy context relevant to the third sector’s work with children\, young people and families. The sessions will involve an introduction to Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC)\, Children’s Rights\, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)\, before providing an exploration of how these key policies fit within the wider policy framework. \nTaking place from 10am–12pm\, on both Tuesday 20 January 2026 and Thursday 19 March 2026\, the key learning from these free webinars will include: \n\nRecognising the background to UNCRC and the four general principles\nIntroducing key elements of the wider Scottish policy context\, including the National Performance Framework\nOpportunity for attendees to reflect on their own practice.\n\nRegistration is required\, and can be done through the Children in Scotland website\, linked below: \n\n 10am–12pm\, Tuesday 20 January: Register for Session\n 10am–12pm\, Thursday 19 March: Register for Session\n\nFor further information\, please visit the Children in Scotland website (linked for your convenience).
