SUMMARY:“A World of Work Tasters” Event
DESCRIPTION:Historic Environment Scotland (HES) is working in partnership with Morgan Sindall Construction to host a number of “A World of Work Tasters” events in March 2026\, aiming to provide young people with an insight into the world of construction\, and the roles and careers available. \nAttendees will experience 7 interactive work tasters during the 6 hour session. These sessions will take place as one event\, repeated 3 times on: \n\nTuesday 3 March 2026\nWednesday 4 March 2026\nThursday 5 March 2026\n\n“A World of Work Tasters” are aimed at anyone aged 16 years old and over\, and those who support them within education\, employability\, or a youth- or community-supported setting. As well as multiple hands-on experiences\, there will be the opportunity for attendees to speak with the people who do the jobs on a daily basis. \nTasters include: \n\nDigital Den: “Discover design\, digital construction and technology’s place in the built- environment.”\nA Greener Future: “Sustainable construction and our environment.”\nPipe It Right: “Learn about plumbing and heating.”\nOne Build At A Time: “A hands on practical brickwork and scaffolding workshop.”\nLets Go Retro!: “Learn about retrofit and building conservation.”\nSpark: “An insight into mechanical\, electrical and plumbing trades.”\nCarving Out Construction: “A hands on practical stonemasonry workshop.”\n\nPlease note\, tickets are only required for young people attending\, not their teachers or attending adult (if there are any). Lunch will be provided for ticket holders\, and support is available for up to 75% of travel costs to the event. DESCRIPTION:The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) is hosting an online session\, Meet the Funder with Creative Scotland\, designed to help organisations understand funding opportunities available through Creative Scotland’s open funding programmes. The event will take place on Tuesday 3 March 2026\, 10am – 11am. \nAttendees will hear about Creative Scotland’s funding programmes and how they support the arts\, screen\, and creative industries across Scotland\, with an overview of Creative Scotland’s main funding opportunities and how these can support creative projects and organisations. The session will highlight the types of activity that can be funded and provide practical advice on making strong applications. \nThe webinar will also feature Kirsty Young\, SCVO’s Funding Scotland Development Officer\, who will share insights on Funding Scotland and wider support available.
