SUMMARY:Volunteer Scotland 41st Annual General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Volunteer Scotland will hold its 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday 24 November 2025\, 10am – 11:45am\, online via Zoom. \nDuring the AGM\, Volunteer Scotland will explore key ways society is changing\, and how its team can address the associated effects on volunteerism. Volunteer Scotland’s CEO\, Alan Stevenson\, will also share the first year reflections from the implementation of its new 5 year strategy\, “Creating a Nation of Volunteers”\, and looking ahead to next year. \nThis year\, in addition to the formal business of the AGM\, Volunteer Scotland will welcome Rob Jackson\, a prominent voice in volunteering across the world. Rob will highlight how changing society affects volunteerism and explore how the sector can adapt to new volunteering trends. There will also be time for questions\, discussion and action planning. \nThe AGM is open to members of Volunteer Scotland\, volunteering funders\, decision makers and other stakeholders\, volunteer managers and coordinators\, and volunteers themselves. \nSpaces are limited\, and booking is essential. DESCRIPTION:“What does a human rights and equalities approach mean for volunteering?” \n\n\n\nThird Sector Human Rights and Equalities (THRE) is holding an online training session on Monday 24 November 2025\, 1pm – 4pm\, via Zoom. \n“Volunteering – A Human Rights and Equalities First Approach” is a free course for anyone working in Scotland’s third sector\, who is responsible for (or involved with) a volunteering programme and is interested in learning why and how to take a human rights and equalities to your work. \nThe course will cover: \n\nwhat a human rights and equalities first approach is\nhow human rights and equalities are relevant to participants’ volunteering programme\nhow to apply human rights and equalities to participants’ volunteer recruitment practices and the culture of their volunteering programmes\n\nThere will be regular breaks throughout the session\, with spaces prioritised for Scotland-based third sector organisations.
