SUMMARY:International Volunteer Managers Day 2025
DESCRIPTION:International Volunteer Managers Day (IVMDay) is being celebrated on Wednesday 5 November 2025\, a day that honours the professionals and community leaders who facilitate volunteering globally.  It serves as both recognition of the boldness volunteer managers already embody\, and an invitation for organisations and communities to take action in support of them. \n\n\n\nThis year’s theme is “Be BOLD. Make Change”. To mark the occasion\, organisers are launching the #BeBoldMakeChangeChallenge\, inviting everyone to honour and support volunteer managers by: \n\nCelebrating: Thank the volunteer managers in your community\, from nonprofits and schools to libraries and hospitals. “A card\, a treat\, or a heartfelt message goes a long way.”\nStanding Out: Wear bold colours on Wednesday 5 November 2025 and share on social media with #IVMDay25\, and why volunteer managers matter.\nStepping Up: An opportunity for Volunteer Managers to showcase their bold approaches to tackling challenges and inspire others by sharing stories online with #BeBoldMakeChange.\n\n“Help us recognise and celebrate the bold leadership of volunteer managers who make volunteering possible!” \nFor further information on how to support IVMDay\, including campaign resources and how to join the #BeBoldMakeChange challenge\, please visit the IVMD website (linked for your convenience).

SUMMARY:“Welcoming Young People as Volunteers” Training
DESCRIPTION:YouthVIP is offering the volunteer-involving community across Scotland the opportunity to access fully funded training\, “Welcoming Young People as Volunteers”\, thanks to support from Scottish Government. \n\n\n\nThe training session will take place online via Zoom on Wednesday 5 November 2025\, 9:30am – 11am. \nWithin this session\, participants will look at best practice around recruiting\, retaining and developing young volunteers\, as well as looking at the structural aspects (including safeguarding and compliance). There will also be time to consider the motivations and drive for young people in volunteering\, so participants can translate this to their own environment to enhance the likelihood of young people volunteering (and staying!) to support their cause. \nAccess links and details for the training will be shared 48 hours before the session is due to begin. \nTo book your free training place\, or for further information\, please visit the Eventbrite page (linked for your convenience). \nAbout YouthVIP\nYouthVIP is a partnership programme delivered by 3 third sector organisations in Scotland: Volunteering Matters\, Young Scot and YouthLink Scotland. The programme is shaped and informed by a volunteer panel of young people who help guide its priorities in creating more sustainable and inclusive volunteering opportunities for young people across Scotland. \nFor further information\, please visit the YouthVIP website.
