SUMMARY:Carers Parliament 2025
DESCRIPTION:The annual Carers Parliament\, organised by Carers Scotland\, will take place on Thursday 30 October 2025\, offering unpaid carers in Scotland a vital platform to speak directly with national and local decision-makers. \nThis year’s event looks ahead to 2026 and beyond\, focusing on how to improve carers’ lives in the context of the upcoming Scottish Parliament election and the recently passed Care Reform Bill\, including the right to a break. The parliament will also look to address the main priorities for unpaid carers and how their lives can be improved. \nThe event will be hybrid\, taking place both online and in-person at the Apex Grassmarket Hotel\, Edinburgh. However\, as of August 2025\, in-person places are fully booked. If you would like to attend in person\, please indicate this when booking an online place\, and you will be added to the waiting list for an in-person place. \nInvited speakers include Tom Arthur MSP\, Minister for Social Care and Mental Wellbeing\, and COSLA’s Health and Social Care Spokesperson\, Councillor Paul Kelly. Both have confirmed their attendance. \nCarers attending in person can claim expenses for travel\, replacement care\, accommodation (if needed)\, and subsistence. Please note the event will be photographed and filmed. \nThe Carers Parliament 2025 is funded by Scottish Government\, and supported by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks. \nFor further information\, including how to book your place (whether online\, or to request a space on the in-person waiting list)\, please visit the Carers Scotland website (linked for your convenience). \nOne you have booked your place\, you will be contacted within 6 weeks with further details of the event. DESCRIPTION:CVS Falkirk & District is excited to welcome all to our 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM)\, on Thursday 30 October 2025\, to reflect on the projects and initiatives which have supported the Falkirk District third sector over the last year. \nTaking place in-person at Brightons Community Hall (Main Street\, Brightons\, FK2 0JT)\, 1pm–3:30pm\, this event is an opportunity for us to share insight into our activities and projects\, facilitate networking among our members and stakeholders\, and thanks to our guest speaker from the Fairer Funding team\, understand more about Scottish Government’s commitment to develop a fairer funding approach for the sector.
