SUMMARY:Apple and Gardening Family Fun Day Event
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday 4 October 2025\, Braes Friendly Growers (BFG) is holding Apple and Gardening Family Fun Day 2025\, a free community-building event taking place 11am – 3pm at Polmont Community Hub\, Greenpark Drive\, Polmont\, FK2 0PZ. \n\n\n\nBraes Friendly Growers is a community group focused on outdoor education\, permaculture\, and sustainable growing. The group is teaming up with FEL Scotland’s food growing department to host this inaugural community-building event\, the area’s first annual Apple Day. \nThrough the event\, BFG aims to provide the local community with the chance to discover its plans for the Hub’s outdoor area. On the day\, there will be: \n\napple pressing (bring your own apples\, and bottles if possible)\na baking contest (bring your baked apple goods)\na craft fayre\nopportunities to help design the Polmont Community Garden and learn seed saving with Grangemouth Seed Library\n\n“There are plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved. Engaging in these activities has been scientifically shown to significantly benefit mental health and well-being. Let’s come together to grow food\, cook\, and enjoy meals organically!” \nSoup and snacks will be available on the day\, and everyone is welcome. DESCRIPTION:As part of the Ada Scotland Festival\, QA is hosting a free online workshop designed to introduce girls and young women in Scotland to web development\, taking place on Saturday 4 October\, 10am – 2pm. \n\nAbout the Ada Scotland Festival\n\n\n“The Ada Scotland Festival champions gender balance in tech and computing\, providing inspiration for our young people and to build a stronger\, fairer\, more diverse work force of the future.” \nNow in its sixth year\, the festival runs Monday 29 September 2025 – Friday 10 October 2025\, with a series of events scheduled around Ada Lovelace Day (ALD) in October. (ALD is an annual event held on the second Tuesday of October to celebrate and raise awareness of the contributions of women to STEM fields.
