Scottish Learning Festival 2021
The Scottish Learning Festival (SLF) takes place online Tuesday 21st September – Thursday 23rd September this year. The 3 day programme reflects the main themes of SLF for 2021: Renew, Refresh, Re-imagine. SLF is the annual conference and exhibition for educational professionals across Scotland, and is completely free to attend. This year’s event is completely virtual, with a range of live and recorded sessions, and keynote speeches from Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP (Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills) and the Right Honourable Stuart Lawrence (a youth engagement specialist, coach and author, and the younger brother of Stephen Lawrence), amongst others.

Bainsford and Langlees Community Action Plan: Pop-Up Stall
In a change to previously announced dates, Falkirk Community Planning Partnership (CPP) is holding online meetings and local in-person pop-up stalls to speak with local people in Bainsford and Langlees about what they want to see in their areas. The CPP is working with local community groups and residents to develop a Community Action Plan (CAP), which focuses these voices as key to the areas’ future. The in-person stalls take place Monday 20th September - Thursday 23rd September. Online meetings will take place the following week.

National Care Service Consultation Event
In February 2021 the completed Independent Review of Adult Social Care (known as the “Feeley review”), commissioned by Scottish Government, was published. One recommendation of the Review was the creation of a National Care Service; Scottish Government has now opened a national consultation on this, with several online consultation events. The deadline for consultation responses is Monday 18th October.
