DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again where our team at CVS Falkirk starts planning for Volunteers’ Week (Thursday 1st June – Wednesday 7th June)\, where we celebrate all the volunteers throughout Falkirk District who go above and beyond to help others. \nThis year\, we’ve exciting plans in the works\, including the return of Celebrating Volunteering Certificates and Volunteer Awards\, plus a special photo display and the chance to join us at the very start of the week\, Thursday 1st June\, for Picnic in the Park! \nAll details are available below. \n\nVolunteer Awards 2023\n‼️ Thank you for all your interest; nominations are now closed\, and we will announce the award winners on Wednesday 7th June. \nLocal people\, organisations and groups can now nominate the volunteers they think deserve recognition for their exceptional efforts. The winner for each category will be chosen by an independent panel and will receive a surprise gift to enjoy. \nThe Award categories for 2023 are: \n\nVolunteer of the Year\nYoung Volunteer of the Year\nInnovative Volunteer Award\nVolunteer-Involving Organisation of the Year Award\n\nThere will also be a Panel’s Choice Award\, with the winner selected from all other categories by our panel. \nThe deadline for nominations to the awards is 11:59pm on Friday 5th May. \n❌ If you’d like to nominate one of your volunteers\, or if someone in your community deserves special thanks for their volunteering efforts\, or for helping out and you’d like to say thank you – please NOMINATE SOMEONE FOR THE VOLUNTEER AWARDS 2023 BY CLICKING THIS LINK. ❌ \n\nCelebrating Volunteering Certificate\n‼️ Thank you for all your interest; if you would like to enquire about Celebrating Volunteering certificates past the deadline\, please contact CVS Falkirk by email: info@cvsfalkirk.org.uk \nLocal groups and organisations can now request our Celebrating Volunteering Certificates for their volunteers. The certificates will be professionally printed\, and delivered by the CVS Falkirk team in the week leading up to Volunteers’ Week. \nAll certificate requests must be received by 11:59pm on Friday 5th May\, via the online form below. \n❌ Request your group’s CELEBRATING VOLUNTEERING CERTIFICATES BY CLICKING THIS LINK TO THE ONLINE FORM. ❌ \n\nSave the Date: Picnic in the Park!\nPicnic in the Park! is back for 2023\, taking place at the very start of Volunteers’ Week\, Thursday 1st June. \nEach group or organisation can reserve 2 spaces for the lunchtime Picnic in the Park! on each of the forms linked above\, or by contacting us via email: info@cvsfalkirk.org.uk \nWe’ll be in touch closer to the time with details (including times and this year’s venue)\, so please make sure your contact details are correct. \n\nVolunteers in Action: Get Involved with Our Photo Display\nIt’s been an absolute joy to see volunteering opportunities reignite over the last year. \nNow that COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted\, and our sector is busier than ever\, we would love to see photos of your volunteers doing what they do best – volunteering! \nWe’re working on a special Volunteers’ Week photo display to celebrate our local volunteers\, and your group can get involved. The display will highlight not only the impact you make in your community\, but the efforts of your volunteers and the joy and support they bring. \nTo submit your photos\, either tag us @CVSFalkirk on social media (Twitter\, Facebook\, Instagram\, LinkedIn)\, or send them by email: info@cvsfalkirk.org.uk \n\nCelebrating Volunteering Ideas\nWe’ve told you about what we’re doing for Volunteers’ Week\, but you can also plan your own celebrations! \nNo one knows your volunteers better than you\, so why not take this opportunity to thank them in a way you know they’ll love\, and is tailored to them?  (As well as getting them a lovely certificate\, or nominating them for an award\, of course!) \nWe’ve put together some ideas we hope will inspire you\, which you can view or download as a pdf (linked for your convenience). \nSuggestions include having your own Volunteer Get Together (such as an afternoon tea)\, organising a visit from your local MSP or councillor\, or creating a visual display board. \n\nFor further information\, or support around any Volunteers’ Week activity\, contact our team by email: info@cvsfalkirk.org.uk
