SUMMARY:Strathcarron Hospice Information Stands
DESCRIPTION:In response to feedback from those living with long-term conditions and their carers\, Strathcarron Hospice are providing a series of pop-up information stands\, with the first on Thursday 3rd August\, 10am – 12pm at Carronbank Medical Practice\, Carronbank House\, Denny\, FK6 6GD. \nOver the last year\, Strathcarron Community Development team have been dedicated to listening to people with long term conditions and their carers.  As such\, they have been asking “What matters to you when you are living with declining health?” and “What are the barriers to you and your loved ones thinking about and making plans for the future?” \nPeople have responded to say that making plans for the future is important\, and that they want to communicate these plans with their families\, but they don’t know how or where to start.  They have told Strathcarron that they need information\, but they want to choose for themselves what suits their own needs. \nA number also said that the internet is too impersonal\, and can be overwhelming and daunting. \nAs a result\, Strathcarron Hospice have trained people from the local community\, who have personal experience of living with or caring for someone with a long term condition\, to provide information pop-up stands\, with the stand in Carronbank Medical Practice being the first. \nThe stands will have information on making plans for the future and having difficult conversations with loved ones\, along with a variety of informative materials\, with the staff aiming to provide a more personal experience. \nFor further information\, please contact Strathcarron Hospice by phone: 01324 826222.
