Scottish Parliament BSL Plan Consultation Event
May 18 - May 19
The Scottish Parliament is holding a 2 day event for British Sign Language (BSL) users on the afternoon of Friday 18th May and the morning of Saturday 19th May at the Parliament, in order to help prepare and shape its BSL Plan.
They want to take this opportunity to explain to BSL users what they are currently doing with the plan, and how they can get involved.
Tours of the Scottish Parliament Debating Chamber and Garden Lobby will be available in BSL on both days. The Parliament’s full accessibility details can be viewed on their website.
There are a small number of public parking spaces reserved for disabled people on Horse Wynd, between the Parliament and Holyrood Palace. However, these parking bays are for visitors to the Holyrood area in general, not just for visitors to the Parliament. They are owned and managed by the City of Edinburgh Council and can be used by all blue badge holders. There is, therefore, no guarantee that a space will be available.
Parking for people with a disabled person’s parking permit is permitted on single yellow lines, and these are available near to the Parliament building. Those who require further information about accessible parking and requirements are welcome to contact the Parliament on the details below.
For further information, or to book your place, please contact the Scottish Parliament by phone: 0131 348 5000 or 0800 092 7500, or email: email@example.com
Text Relay calls are welcome, or in BSL through the contactSCOTLAND-BSL service.
Alternatively, a BSL video is available on the Scottish Parliament website.
