SUMMARY:"Retail for Change": Our High Street
DESCRIPTION:Retail for Change: The Social Sessions is Social Investment Scotland’s (SIS) ongoing programme of 90 minute “masterclasses”\, designed to provide the tools and skills to develop\, shape or amplify a social enterprise’s “retail for change” offering. \nTopics include the “new customer”\, manufacturing\, the high street and logistics. The programme is led by Rachael Brown\, SIS Associate\, and features expert speakers. \nWith a session per month\, the next masterclass\, “Our High Street”\, takes place Thursday 30th June\, 10m – 11:30am\, where attendees will discuss the opportunities\, challenges and potential for social enterprises and the high street with SIS staff and guest speakers \nIn this session\, discussion will cover: \n\n“The high street stats & data”\n“Rural high streets and urban high streets”\n“What impact does “buy local” have?”\n“How can social enterprises access opportunities in the high street?”\n“What are the investment & financial challenges?”\n\nGuest speakers will be Phil Prentice (Chief Officer of Scotland’s Towns Partnership\, who also leads the Scotland Loves Local Programme and sits as a Director on both the UK High Streets Task Force and the Transforming Towns Board in Wales)\, and Richard Mason\, an Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) leader with over a decade of international experience in managing\, developing\, and directing innovative work across the sustainability agenda at the likes of Co-op\, Asda\, Burberry\, AO World and now as Global Head of ESG at Holland and Barrett. \nTo book your place\, or for further information\, please visit the Eventbrite page. \nAlternatively\, for further information on the programme and upcoming masterclasses\, visit the dedicated Retail for Change: The Social Sessions page.
