March 1, 2023
FreeFalkirk Council has announced their intention to revoke the Falkirk Town Centre Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) for particulate matter (PM10) only, exercising powers conferred upon it by Section 83(1) of the UK Environment Act 1995.
It is proposed that the AQMA is revoked in relation to continued compliance (over 7 years) of the PM10 National Air Quality Strategy objectives as set out in the Air Quality (Scotland) Regulations 2000, the Air Quality (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2002 and the Air Quality (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2016.
Comments on the proposal are now invited. The deadline for comments is Wednesday 1st March.
The 2022 Falkirk Town Centre PM10 AQMA Revocation Report (including the AQMA map boundary) can be viewed on the dedicated Air Quality page.
