Recovery Walk Scotland 2017
September 30, 2017Free
Recovery Walk Scotland 2017 will be taking place on Sunday 30th September in Dundee.
The Walk and Recovery Festival is an opportunity for everyone to feel and see the benefits that recovery from addiction brings to Scotland.
The theme of this year’s free event is “Love Makes You Family”, and everyone is welcome, from people in recovery and their friends and family, to supporters, service and treatment providers.
The event comes in 3 parts:
- Part 1: Roses in the River Tay, where those who have been lost to addictions in the last year are remembered, by speaking their names and placing roses on the river in their memory. This will begin at 11am, with the assembly point to be confirmed.
- Part 2: Recovery Walk Procession, which will begin around 12pm. Attendees will walk through the streets of Dundee, led by an African drumming band, in an effort to make recovery visible. The exact route is to be confirmed.
- Part 3: The Recovery Village and Festival, 12:30pm – 4:30pm on Magdalene Green, which will feature musicians and speakers on the main stage, and the tented recovery village, along with children’s activities and play area.
