SUMMARY:Proposal to Revoke Haggs AQMA: Comments Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Falkirk Council has announced their intention to revoke the Haggs Air Quality Management Area (AQMA)\, exercising powers granted to them by Section 83(1) of the UK Environment Act 1995. \nIt is proposed that the AQMA is revoked in relation to continued compliance (over 5 years) of the nitrogen dioxide (NO2) National Air Quality Strategy objectives as set out in the following: \n\nthe Air Quality (Scotland) Regulations 2000\nthe Air Quality (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2002\nthe Air Quality (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2016\n\nThe 2021 Haggs AQMA Revocation Proposal Report (including the AQMA map boundary\, and linked for your convenience) is available to view or download as a pdf via Falkirk Council’s air quality page. \nThe council invites written comments on its proposal to revoke the Haggs AQMA – the deadline for all responses is Tuesday 5th October. \nTo submit your comments\, please contact Falkirk Council by email: pollution@falkirk.gov.uk \nAlternatively\, for further information\, view the proposal report linked above\, or visit the Falkirk Council air quality page.
