SUMMARY:NEW “An Informed Choice: Community Asset Transfer” Info Session
DESCRIPTION:Following on from the sessions earlier this year\, CVS Falkirk is holding an online information session on Community Asset Transfer (CAT) (with the possibility for additional sessions at a later date)\, taking place on Tuesday 5th September\, 1pm – 3:30pm. \n \n“An Informed Choice: Community Asset Transfer” is an introductory session\, open to third sector organisations and groups across Falkirk and District\, from Bo’ness to Banknock\, Airth to Limerigg\, including: charities\, voluntary and community groups\, social enterprises\, volunteers\, community centre and hall associations\, and committees and boards. \nThese sessions are part of our support to the local third sector and communities around the Falkirk Strategic Property Review and the proposal to make 133 council-owned properties available for transfer to communities. “An Informed Choice” is a chance to learn more about the opportunities and possible challenges of CAT and community ownership\, including rights and responsibilities\, and eligibility criteria. \nWe will be joined by the Community Ownership Support Service (COSS)\, Development Trusts Association Scotland (DTAS)\, and the Scottish Land Fund\, who will discuss the CAT process\, the steps involved\, and funding available.
