SUMMARY:National Planning Framework Drop-In: Glasgow
DESCRIPTION:Scottish Government’s Planning and Architecture Division is currently developing the next National Planning Framework (NPF)\, and is looking for people’s views on the future development of Scotland. \nThe NPF is a long-term strategy for Scotland setting out policies and proposals for the development and use of land out to 2050\, with key issues including: \n\nhousing (particularly for older and disabled people)\nhealth and wellbeing\nequalities\nrural re-population\nbiodiversity\nclimate change\n\nThis particular framework\, known as NPF4\, will have the status of the development plan for planning purposes – this is a change to the current position\, meaning that its policies will have a stronger role in informing day to day decision-making. NPF4 will also be an important document for communities as they prepare any Local Place Plan. NPF4 will be supported by a range of impact assessments\, including one on the impact on Island Communities. \nThe division is keen to hear the views of a wide range of people from across Scotland\, including members of the public\, community and amenity groups\, professionals\, planners\, and developers\, and especially how they think planning can help in realising their aspirations. \nIn addition to their Call for Ideas\, the division has organised drop-ins in Glasgow and Edinburgh on: \n\nTuesday 17th March\, open 12pm – 2pm at the Glasgow Women’s Library\, 23 Landressy Street\, Glasgow\, G40 1BP\nWednesday 18th March\, open 12pm – 2pm at Quaker Meeting House\, Victoria Terrace\, Edinburgh\, EH1 2JL\n\nEveryone is welcome at these events. Funding is also available to help communities hold their own events\, through the Community Grant Fund; further information on the fund\, including a range of resources\, is available on Scottish Government’s Transforming Planning website\, under the “Early Engagement” tab. \nThe deadline for responses is Tuesday 31st March. \nFor further information\, please visit the Transforming Planning website.
