SUMMARY:National Missing Persons Framework Good Practice Conference
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Scottish Government\, Missing People is holding a new national conference\, “National Missing Persons Framework Good Practice Conference”\, on Thursday 29th February\, 9:30am – 3pm at Strathclyde Technology and Innovation Centre\, 99 George Street\, Glasgow\, G1 1RD. \nMissing People is a UK charity specialising in providing guidance and support to missing people and their families. Since July 2019\, they have been working with both Scottish Government and Police Scotland to deliver a free programme of consultancy\, training and good practice sharing to support the implementation of The National Missing Persons Framework across local areas in Scotland. \nThe free National Missing Persons Framework Good Practice Conference has been designed to showcase elements of good practice across policing divisions and local authority areas from Missing People’s work in 2022 – 2023. \nThe conference aims to: \n\nincrease national understanding of good and innovative practice for reducing harm related to missing people\nprovide an opportunity for professionals to discuss the benefits and challenges of multi-agency responses to missing people and their families\naddress current issues and trends relating to missing people across Scotland\, such as Child Criminal Exploitation\, and Dementia safeguarding\n\nThe conference will include speakers from across Scotland and presentations from Missing People’s divisional partners to discuss and exhibit a variety of good and innovative practice.
