SUMMARY:Look Good Feel Better Pilot Session for Interested Volunteers
DESCRIPTION:Look Good Feel Better is launching a new series of men’s cancer support workshops at Maggie’s Forth Valley for those in the Forth Valley region\, and is currently looking for volunteers who are interested in facilitating group sessions\, providing peer-support\, and helping to build a safe and welcoming environment for those attending the workshops. \n\n\n\nAbout Look Good Feel Better\nLook Good Feel Better is a charity supporting people living with cancer to manage the physical and emotional impacts of treatment. \nFor over 30 years\, it has supported people living with cancer through practical workshops focused on skincare\, haircare/styling\, nutrition\, and fitness\, as well as fostering peer-support spaces where participants can share experiences\, reduce isolation\, and rebuild confidence. \nPilot Session\nThe team invites interested volunteers to the first pilot session on Thursday 13 November 2025 to observe the workshop format\, meet the team\, and decide if they would like to take part going forward. \nThe Volunteering Role\nLook Good Feel Better is seeking volunteers who: \n\nfeel confident facilitating or supporting small group discussions\nare comfortable creating safe\, non-judgmental\, inclusive spaces for men living with cancer\nare empathic\, good listeners\, and keen to support others\n\nFull training on the workshop content (including cancer-specific elements) will be provided by the Look Good Feel Better team. No prior specialist experience is required — just warmth\, communication skills and a desire to support. \nThe ongoing commitment requested of volunteers would be roughly one workshop per quarter into 2026\, though schedules are flexible. \n“Men living with cancer often experience challenges to their confidence\, identity and social connection.
