SUMMARY:Learning Disability Week 2019
DESCRIPTION:Learning Disability Week 2019 (organised by the Scottish Commission for Learning Disability (SCLD)) runs Monday 13th May – Sunday 19th May. \nThe theme for 2019 is “Community – Active\, Connected\, Included”. This year also sees the launch of the new Learning Disability Week mascot Uno the Unicorn\, created by 2018’s competition winner Stephen Dickson. \nLearning Disability Week and the 2019 theme comes from SCLD’s belief that everyone that everyone should have an equal share in their local community\, and that while people with learning disabilities can sometimes experience barriers to inclusion\, they also make huge contributions to their communities\, and are more visible and valued in their communities than ever before. \nSCLD wants to celebrate the contribution of people with learning disabilities in their communities\, with 2019 celebrations being an opportunity to share stories of being “Active\, Connected and Included”. \nFor further information\, including how to get involved\, please visit the SCLD website.
