SUMMARY:Fundraising Regulation Consultation
DESCRIPTION:A consultation of current and future charity fundraising regulation will be held the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO)\, and is open to third sector organisations.  The event asks\, “How do you think charity fundraising should be regulated in Scotland?” \nIn 2015 fundraisers\, and the charities they work for\, faced unprecedented criticism for the methods they use to generate income. Recognising the need to regain public trust and confidence\, SCVO and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) reviewed the current self-regulatory approach to fundraising\, reporting their findings in the autumn of 2015. \nThe resulting Scottish Fundraising Working Group is addressing the recommendations of these reviews\, as described in the consultation document and its executive summary. In particular\, it has developed options for a new regulatory approach to fundraising that would be simpler\, and easier for the public to understand. \nThis event gives people a chance to hear what the options mean for their organisation\, and to give their views.
