SUMMARY:FREE “Reimagined Scottish Folklore” Live Event
DESCRIPTION:Historic Scotland and Historic Environment Scotland are holding “Reimagined Scottish Folklore”\, a free online event on Saturday 20th March\, 11:30am – 12:30pm. \nPart of their World Storytelling Day celebrations and hosted by award winning Scottish-Kenyan storyteller Mara Menzies (who will also tell her own story)\, the event will feature reimagined Scottish folktales\, stories and myths\, a 21st Century look at some of Scotland’s oldest stories with guests: \n\nKirsty Logan\, LGBT Scottish novelist and poet\nNiall Moorjani\, Scottish-Indian storyteller and writer\nSunnah Khan\, Scottish-Pakistani poet\n\nStories will include the tale of Beira\, the winter goddess who built mountains\, to a mixed race and queer reimagining of Thomas the Rhymer\, to a multicultural myth of the first fairies to arrive on the banks of the Clyde. \nThis event will be livestreamed free via the Historic Environment Scotland and Historic Scotland Facebook pages and their YouTube. \nThe pre-recorded event (filmed in accordance with all COVID-19 regulations and guidance in place at the time of filming) will also be available via these channels after the livestream. \nThe recommended age for viewers is 13 years old and over. \nFor further information\, including how to view the event on Saturday\, please visit the Facebook event.
