SUMMARY:Forth Valley Cyber Resilience: Why It Should Matter to the Third Sector
DESCRIPTION:The FREE “Forth Valley Cyber Resilience: Why It Should Matter to the Third Sector” event is being held by Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE)\, CVS Falkirk and Clackmannanshire TSI (CTSI)\, with support from Scottish Government’s Cyber Resilience Unit and Codebase Stirling\, on Friday 26th April\, 2pm – 4pm in the Codebase Stirling building at 8 – 10 Corn Exchange Road\, Stirling\, FK8 2HU. \nPlaces are limited to only 30 spaces\, so booking as soon as possible is recommended. \nCybercrime (including hacking\, computer viruses and email scams) is increasingly targeting charities\, social enterprises\, voluntary and community groups; as a result\, staff and volunteers need to know what to look out for to keep their organisations safe. \nThe session is running as part of Cyber Scotland Week 2019\, a joint initiative between Scottish Government and ScotlandIS\, taking place Monday 22nd April – Sunday 28th April. \nA first of its kind for cyber in Scotland\, Cyber Scotland Week draws together events across the country to showcase innovation taking place in the sector\, while raising awareness of good cyber resilience practice and promoting a career within the industry. The Week aims to bring together influencers\, experts and the next generation of talent to explore and learn about the potential rewards and challenges in this fast-changing threat landscape. \nJoin us in Forth Valley for this interactive session\, providing an introduction to cyber resilience\, and some tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of cyber criminals. \nStaff and volunteers of third sector organisation across Forth Valley are welcome. No prior experience or knowledge of cyber protection is necessary. \nTo book your FREE place\, please visit the Eventbrite page. \nAlternatively\, contact Laura Jamieson by phone: 01324 692003\, or email: laura@cvsfalkirk.org.uk
