SUMMARY:Falkirk Good Food Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Forth Environment Link (FEL) is carrying out research seeking sustainable and dignified solutions to food insecurity in Forth Valley. The research project aims to tackle food poverty\, diet related ill-health and access to affordable healthy food by bringing people and organisations together to devise and develop long term actions that that improve the local food system. \nThe project is in partnership with: \n\nNHS Forth Valley\nlocal councils (Falkirk Council\, Stirling Council\, and Clackmannanshire Council)\nlocal Third Sector Interfaces (CVS Falkirk\, Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE)\, and Clackmannanshire TSI (CTSI))\n\nFEL hopes to develop a better understanding of the issues and challenges facing the local food system. They want to hear from organisations involved in food projects\, as well as community groups\, businesses and individuals with an interest in tackling food poverty and in making food systems fairer and more sustainable. \nThis research will help FEL and partners plan and work together on improving access to food in the region so that it is fair for all and as climate friendly as possible. They will also be looking at how to make the food system more resilient in times of crisis\, after the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown food inequalities into sharp focus. \nFEL will also be hosting 3 online sessions as part of the research to spark conversations around good food\, aiming to bring together people and communities from across Forth Valley to better understand the challenges faced at the moment with the current food system.
