DESCRIPTION:The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) Scotland Committee are currently recruiting for new members to join their team in November\, to support and advise in key areas of equality and human rights in Scotland.  The vacancies will begin advertising in September. \nAs part of their recruitment\, they are hosting a couple of open day sessions on the following dates: \n\nMonday 4th September\, 11:30am – 2pm at the Tayside Deaf Hub\, The Old Mill\, 23 Brown Street\, Dundee\, DD1 5EF\nWednesday 6th September\, 4pm – 6:30pm in the Aspire Room\, 8th Floor of The Studio\, 67 Hope Street\, Glasgow\, G2 6AE.\n\nThe Equality and Human Rights Commission is Britain’s national equality and human rights body. They operate in Scotland\, England and Wales.  They aim to help make Britain fairer\, by safeguarding and enforcing the laws that protect people’s rights to fairness\, dignity and respect. \nThe EHRC Scotland Committee is a statutory committee which advises the Commission on its work in Scotland. It is chaired by the EHRC Scotland Commissioner\, Dr Lesley Sawers. \nIn new members\, they are looking for people from a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences\, and who have a passion and commitment to furthering equality in Scotland. \nThe Scotland Committee would like to encourage people to attend the open days in in advance of applying for the role of Scotland Committee Member.  Attendees will have the opportunity to ask any questions about the Scotland Committee and how it works\, and to speak with the Commissioner and other Scotland Committee Members. \nTo book your place at either date\, or for further information\, please contact Gillian Lawrence by email: Gillian.Lawrence@equalityhumanrights.com  Please indicate any dietary requirements or reasonable adjustments you require when booking. \nAlternatively\, for further information on the EHRC Scotland Committee and the open days\, please visit the EHRC website.
