SUMMARY:Creating Hope Together in Polmont & the Braes
DESCRIPTION:Come together to strengthen local understanding of mental health and suicide prevention. \nFollowing on from the successful community learning event last year in Denny and Bonnybridge\, the next session of the Creating Hope in… series will focus on Polmont and the wider Braes communities – including Brightons\, Redding\, Westquarter and beyond. The workshop invites residents\, local groups\, businesses\, schools\, volunteers and anyone with an interest in supporting community wellbeing to take part. \nHosted in partnership with Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership’s Health Improvement Team\, this free workshop will take place on Wednesday 27 May 2026\, from 6pm–9pm\, at Polmont Community Hub (FK2 0PZ). The workshop combines national informed level suicide prevention training\, interactive group activities\, insights from third sector organisations\, and opportunities to connect with others who care about building a safer\, more compassionate community. Previous events have shown just how powerful it can be when people come together to learn\, share and support one another. \nThis workshop is rooted in the Scottish Government’s Suicide Prevention Strategy 2022-2032\, which emphasises the need for cross‑sector collaboration to reduce suicide deaths and tackle the inequalities that contribute to suicide. The event reflects these values by welcoming everyone to take part in shaping a more supportive\, inclusive\, and stigma free environment for all. \nParticipants can expect to: \n\nLearn how to respond compassionately and effectively when someone may be at risk\nBuild a clear understanding of suicide prevention principles\nHear from local organisations working in mental health\, suicide prevention and bereavement\nReflect and build on the Creating Hope Charter\, a community‑driven statement of values first drafted at the Denny and Bonnybridge Creating Hope event\n\nNo prior knowledge is required — just a willingness to engage\, listen and help strengthen the wellbeing of the Polmont and Braes communities. \nBook your place today via the CVS Falkirk & District Eventbrite (linked for your convenience)\, or should you have any questions\, please contact us directly – via email: info@cvsfalkirk.org.uk or phone: 01324 692000. \nImportant Note: This event will cover sensitive topics related to suicide prevention\, therefore participants are encouraged to consider their wellbeing before attending\, as discussions may be emotionally challenging. Support resources will be available throughout the event for anyone who may need assistance.
