SUMMARY:Corporate Challenge “BOOTCAMP 3: Policy Perspectives”
DESCRIPTION:Social Enterprise Scotland’s Corporate Challenge bootcamp sessions for social enterprises take place next week\, with a session each day Monday 19th July – Friday 23rd July: \n\nMonday 19th July\, 11am – 12pm: “BOOTCAMP 1: Opportunities for Social Enterprise”\n\nIn this opening session\, Social Enterprise Scotland will look at opportunities for social enterprise organisations to partner and supply the business market\, with speakers highlighting what it means to be a “supported business”\, and insights from practitioners. \n\nTuesday 20th July\, 11am – 12pm: “BOOTCAMP 2: Pitching and Proposals”\n\nSpeakers Gillian Cameron (from the Supplier Development Programme (SDP)) and Colin Downie (the Wildhearts Group) will discuss writing proposals\, bidding for contracts and developing pitches\, identifying the right opportunities\, and securing sales. \nThey will also provide insight on understanding bidding processes from different perspectives\, as a sub-contractor (SDP) and a social enterprise operating in a competitive business market (Wildhearts). \n\nWednesday 21st July\, 11am – 12pm: “BOOTCAMP 3: Policy Perspectives”\n\nThis session focus on what is happening in legislation and policy around social impact procurement\, and how may this support social enterprise. \nWhile the bootcamp is focused predominantly on supply chain and business to business (B2B) supply\, Social Enterprise Scotland has included this session with a focus on public sector procurement\, given the need to understand legislation and the impact this may have on sub-contracting opportunities\, as well as direct supply. \n\nThursday 22nd July\, 11am – 12pm: “BOOTCAMP 4: Private Sector Engagement”\n\nThis session is aimed at social enterprises interested in supply chain opportunities with the public and private sector. Guest speakers will include corporate buyers and social enterprise sellers from Glencraft Luxury Mattresses\, Morrison Construction\, and Social Enterprise UK will share insights and practical tips on how to engage with these sectors. \n\nFriday 23rd July\, 11am – 12pm: “BOOTCAMP 5: Procurement Action Workshop”\n\nThe final session will be an interactive workshop\, where attendees will work in teams to look at Impact Assessment\, and roleplay issuing contracts. \nAs a Sustainable Development Goals Action Manager\, the attendee will consider the options and impacts as they look at socially-led procurement and the steps they may or may not take moving forwards. Understanding challenges and risks from a contractor perspective will enable them as a potential supplier to take an informed look at supply chain from a different perspective. \nThis workshop is designed as a way to interact with others\, gain learning\, and to ask any outstanding questions. \nPlease note: while other sessions will be recorded and available to watch in the future\, this live workshop will need to be attended. \n\nPlaces are free\, and everyone is welcome; attendees can attend as many sessions as suits them. \nTo book your place at any session\, please click on the relevant date above. \nAlternatively\, to book\, or for further information\, please visit the Social Enterprise Scotland calendar.
