SUMMARY:Community Choices Public Voting Closes
DESCRIPTION:Public voting is now open for the fourth round of the Community Choices programme. \nOver 50 local groups\, organisations and clubs have submitted ideas for funding to improve their areas\, which local people can now vote for\, with 3 votes each in the Small Grants and Place-based Capital programmes. \nEveryone who aged 16 years old and over who lives in the Falkirk Council area can vote for the projects they want to see\, and think will make the most difference. Eligible residents have 3 votes they can use in support of projects. Voters can use all 3\, vote twice or just once. \nVoting is done online\, via the Council’s new community engagement platform\, Participate+ (registration required). Paper ballots are available for each Ward in all local libraries. \nIn the Capital Grant category\, there are 4 Falkirk-wide projects aiming to bring benefit across the whole Council area; everyone living in Falkirk District can vote for these 4. However\, people can only vote for Small Grants projects based in the ward they live in; to check your local ward\, visit Falkirk Council’s postcode checker. \nProjects include local gala days and cancer patient transport services\, along with public access defibrillators\, minibuses for local groups\, updating facilities in community buildings (including energy efficiency works) and safe spaces for young people. \nVoting closes on Friday 23rd February; successful projects will be announced on Falkirk Council’s website on Friday 29th March. \nTo vote\, please register on the Participate+ platform. \nAlternatively\, for further information on projects\, please visit the Falkirk Council news article\, or the dedicated voting page (listed by ward on the right of the page).
