SUMMARY:Children’s Services Planning Consultation Events
DESCRIPTION:The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 placed a requirement on Local Authorities and Health Boards to produce a Children’s Services Plan\, which sets out and demonstrates the actions planned\, taken and delivered to improve outcomes for children and young people in their area. The first statutory Children’s Service’s Plans were submitted to Scottish Government in March 2017. \nIn advance of the next reporting cycle (and to support the programme of strategic engagement with local children’s services partners)\, Scottish Government wishes to formally consult on whether the content\, scope and format of the Act’s guidance is still helpful and fit for purpose\, or whether the guidance should be modified\, amended or improved to further enhance and build on the support available. \nAs a result\, the National Third Sector GIRFEC Project\, Everyone’s Children Project\, and the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) are hosting 2 consultation events on behalf of Scottish Government: \n\nTuesday 14th May\, 10am – 1pm at the Glasgow Albany Conference Centre\, 44 Ashley Street\, Glasgow\, G3 6DS\nThursday 23rd May\, 10am – 1pm at the Children in Scotland office\, Level 1\, Rosebery House\, 9 Haymarket Terrace\, Edinburgh\, EH12 5EZ\n\nAt each event\, information will be provided to encourage third sector organisations who wish to submit their own response.
